About the Hearing & Balance Center

The Hearing & Balance Center is Idaho's largest and most respected hearing and balance clinic network, encompassing 4 locations including the new flagship diagnostic and treatment center in Idaho Falls.

The new state-of-the-art flagship clinic, which openned in the spring of 2005, is located in a medical complex adjacent to the primary regional hospital in Idaho Falls.

The regional hearing & Balance Center, formerly known as "The Hearing Clinic," was established in 1993 by Dr. Gerald Mill. Dr. Mill, a graduate of two universities, obtained his Ph.D. in the science of hearing from the University of Utah in 1972. Prior to coming to Idaho Falls in 1974, Dr. Mill taught in a graduate program in Audiology at a midwestern university. He has also taught graduate courses for ISU and is a member of the American Academy of Audiology.

Since the early days of the clinic, Mr. Mill has focused on the provision of hearing services that meet the highest standard of care. Accordingly, our testing can be relied on as a "medical" grade evaluation. We conduct the typical audiologic battery of testing including, pure tones, speech, oto-acoustic emissions, ABR and ENG/VNG (balance) evaluations. Likewise, children are evaluated with oto-acoustic emissions, ABR, and visual response audiometry, in addition to the basic battery of tests.

As a result of its reputation for its medical approach and high standard of care, the Regional Hearing & Balance Center serves as a primary referral clinic for more than 90 physicians and hospitals from all across the western U.S.A.
